The Halloweens that we remember from our youth were a traditional spooky haunted Halloween. Today there are a number of things that people do for Halloween that have taken the spooky right out of the holiday.

Think about the costumes that you see these days. Many women and some children dress up in sexy costumes that are designed to make them look as appealing as possible. What is so spooky about that? The only thing that is frightening about these costumes is the fact that there are twelve-year-old girls running around looking like hookers. It would be more fun if the holiday took on its spooky tradition and people began to be more concerned with looking authentically scary instead of hot.

Whatever happened to telling ghost stories and trying to scare each other on Halloween? It is unclear what happened to the holiday and how it turned into what it has become today. That it has changed is very clear. Let’s try and bring it back to the haunted Halloween that it was meant to be.

This year invite some people over for a Halloween gathering and make sure that you mention your idea for the party. The idea is for everyone to dress in as ghoulish a costume as possible. Those who choose to dress in a sexy costume will be given a rubber mask and trench coat to put on. Of course, this is done with a lighthearted approach, but your message should be clear.

If it is a small gathering, have a movie night where you pick the scariest movies ever made and watch them all one by one. There are some truly terrifying picks that you can put on your top five scary movie list.

Make sure that you have plenty of scary food for your guests and get creative for your haunted Halloween. Look for some recipes online that you can use at your party. There are things that you can do with the decorative effects that will make the food a great treat for your party.

Of course, you will want to make certain that the home is well decorated for your haunted Halloween. Go for a dark and frightening look for your guests. Don’t go for the hokey Halloween decorations with the smiling monsters.
Try for some unusual things in your home when you are decorating for Halloween. Try some ghoulish torture devices that you can just leave laying around for the guests to find.
